It has been several months since I updated you on the progress KTS is making with the projects being funded by the matching grant. It is so exciting to see several of the building areas being transformed for future use. Very important as well, we continue to be impressed with KTS’s stewardship of the Lord’s funds.

The match has been met!
It’s official. The KTS Matching Grant program has been fully funded!
With the June 30th deadline approaching, the match donors were moved by your generosity to make up the difference between what we had raised and the full matching grant. This is a wonderful blessing from God. It means that much needed work can proceed as planned to expand the ministry of Kiev Theological Seminary.
My first thoughts are how faithful God has been through the 20+ years of KTS. It is always such a thrill to see God at work and how He provides through generous people like you. Second, we are so thankful for the faithful service of the KTS staff. Anatoliy and Galyna have devoted their lives to being available to be used by God for this work. New KTS leaders have developed or arrived to take on critical teaching and leadership roles. Next, we greatly appreciate the role that other organizations have played in the KTS story. SEND International has been such a great long-term partner especially during these past nine months. I want to acknowledge their whole team from dedicated missionary teachers to the SEND leadership team. KTS and this matching program look very different today because of their faithful support. No doubt, there are many more that should be acknowledged, but I think we all come to the full realization that God’s provision is accompanied by His people being willing to be used by Him for His purposes.
Where do we go from here? Well, the good news is there are still some additional contributions that are coming in so it is not too late to participate in this matching program. The match donors would prefer that more people be involved so we can count on additional prayer support in the coming months. The next step is the KTS leadership team continues to prioritize the work to be done. Work has already begun on a sewer line and a much-needed wall. Reports on their progress will be forthcoming. Personally, I can’t wait to see the new accommodations for student and the new kitchen!
Last, I want to express my deepest gratitude for each of you that have participated in this program. From the most modest sacrificial gift to the largest, every dollar will be used as wisely as we are able. Thank you so much for entrusting the KTS team with this opportunity!

Have you ever marveled at how God provides? I know I have heard my pastor many times reference J Hudson Taylor, the amazing missionary to China. Mr. Taylor said that “God’s work done in God’s way will not want for Gods supply.” Can you imagine the needs Mr. Taylor faced as he set out to evangelize the Chinese people?! Well, this past week, our friends at SEND International notified me that we had received a $100,000 gift towards the KTS matching grant! What a great way to end the month of May and such an encouragement that God is favoring KTS as something done in His way! To date, we have received just over $421,000 in gifts and we are already receiving matching monies as well.
Work has begun!
With the amount raised, we are ready to begin the projects. Anatoliy, Ruslan and the team are getting bids and working with the following priorities:
Stage I – Finish Prior Project and Enclose Building: $500,000
- 67k – Finish the territory ordering, releasing part of the communal road
- 270k – Enclose the back of the seminary which was left open
- 30k – Heavy materials for next step of KTS construction inside a building. After closing façade, we will be not able to bring into building.
- 133k – Operational funds to the end of 2018.
Stage II – Block 4 Completion: $512,000
- Complete block 4 (classrooms, offices and dormitory) – to give more room to Church Ministry Institute and improved better students’ residence.
Stage III – Kitchen and Cafeteria: $490,000
- Finish kitchen and cafeteria, block 1 and 3, first floor.
- Bring kitchen up to code
Stage IV – Original Building Repairs: $145,000
- Repairs to main (older) building – to repair leaky roof and heating
Stage V – Material and equipment: $186,000
- Additional materials to bring inside before closing the building
- $1.7m for construction
- $133k for operation to the end of 2018
- $167k for operational reserve
With recent gifts, we are confident that we can move forward with all of Stage I and II. This is great, but we want to press forward and maximize the match. I would still ask that you consider your personal networks and see if there are not one or two people that might share in developing this great ministry. Contact me via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (254-760-2139) and let’s see what God will do though us to bring in the rest of the match. We are half way there with one month to go!
With gratitude to each of you! Your gifts are making it possible to envision these KTS students arriving to their new and expanded facilities!… Greg
p.s. In Anatoliy’s newsletter today, he mentioned that the majority of Ukrainian churches with over 400 people are being led by KTS graduates. Faithful teaching of God’s Word is life changing!

I trust this finds you doing well and having experienced a joyful Easter. As I age, my awe of the Lord and His plan for our salvation continues to grow. The Creator of the universe intentionally takes on the sin of the world and defeats it by His glorious resurrection. During the Easter season, I was moved by a Wall-Street Journal article that made a logical, historical case for the truth of the resurrection. It was intriguing as the author started with the 3rd century decision by the Roman Emperor Constantine to become a Christian and worked his way back to the resurrection. It was wonderful to read an account like this in a secular newspaper.
Another exciting reality is that we are now at over $265,000 in funds raised towards the $1 million matching grant opportunity. Read More

Greetings from Colorado! I wanted to give you a quick update on the KTS Matching grant. First, thanks to those that have responded so generously. My personal belief is KTS is a true lighthouse for the Gospel. After having been exposed to many missions organizations over the years, I have rarely seen such ministry effectiveness and wise stewardship. From a former business guy, I would say KTS provides a great return on investment! Read More

Greetings! I trust you’re doing well and enjoying the Advent season. The idea that God would provide His own Son to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves is overwhelming. Let’s show the world what an amazing gift this is by being joyful each and every day!
The purpose of this update is to give you a mid-month update on the Kyiv Theological Seminary Matching Grant opportunity and answer a few more questions. The great news is that we have received commitments of just over $190,000 towards the matching grant.
